CLINOZOISITE

These specimens are formed by a rich group of very well defined prismatic crystals of clinozoisite, very brilliant and between translucent and transparent. They show a very aesthetic color zoning, between the olive green, with beige tones, and the darker green in the internal parts of the crystal. The SEM-EDS analyzes show a variation of the iron content between 10% for the lighter crystals (beige-olive) up to 23% for those showing more intense green. The results indicate that this relationship between Al: Fe corresponds to the clinozoisite. In all cases, the analyzed samples are in the area near the clinozoisite, in the clinozoisite-epidote series. The main crystal is: 1,8 x 0,5 x 0,5 cm.
